House of Narcissus – FAQ

About the House

Q: What is House of Narcissus?

A: A little apothecary of shadows and scent. Each blend is hand-poured in small batches, crafted from natural essences and a few alchemical molecules that keep the magic lingering on your skin.

Q: Are your perfumes all-natural?

A: Almost. We work with essential oils, absolutes, and resins for that raw, botanical depth. To balance and extend them, we add a handful of safe, high-quality aroma molecules; modern alchemy meeting old-world ritual.

Q: Who makes your perfumes?

A: Every drop is blended, tested, and bottled by hand here by me in Western Australia. No faceless factory, no mass production; just slow craft and careful intention.

Ingredients & Safety

Q: What’s in your perfume oils?

A: Our bases are fractionated coconut oil (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) and golden jojoba oil (Simmondsia Chinensis); both light, nourishing, and perfect for carrying scent. On top of that, we blend essential oils, absolutes, resins, and aroma molecules. Nothing else.

Q: Vegan? Cruelty-free?

A: Always. No civet, musk, or ambergris here; only plants, resins, and lab-created molecules. Tested only on willing humans (us).

Q: Do you use alcohol?

A: Never. Our perfumes are oil-based; which means they linger close to the skin, intimate and warm, like a secret meant to be discovered.

Q: Allergens?

A: Natural essences come with naturally occurring compounds like limonene, linalool, benzyl benzoate, and coumarin. These are listed for transparency and vary depending on the scent.

Wearing the Oils

Q: How do I wear perfume oil?

A: Anoint your pulse points; wrists, collarbones, behind the ears, or wherever you’d like someone to lean closer. Your body heat will awaken the scent and let it unfold over time.

Q: How long do they last?

A: With a concentration of around 30–35%, these blends stay with you for hours. The lighter notes may fade first, but the deeper resins, woods, and musks linger like echoes on the skin.

Q: Can I layer them?

A: Absolutely. Our perfumes are designed to stand alone, but layering can create something entirely yours; a private spell no one else can replicate.

Care & Storage

Q: How should I store my perfume oils?

A: Treat them like spell bottles; keep them cool, out of direct sunlight, and tightly capped. Heat and light are the enemies of delicate botanicals.

Q: Do they expire?

A: Natural essences age like wine; deepening, shifting, softening over time. For the truest expression of your blend, we suggest using within 12–18 months. But rest assured, they won’t suddenly turn to poison after.

Q: My oil looks cloudy or has sediment — is that normal?

A: Completely. Some natural absolutes and resins refuse to stay perfectly clear, and that’s part of their wild charm. Give your bottle a gentle roll between your palms and it will settle.

Q: Can I travel with them?

A: Yes. Our roller bottles are sturdy companions. Just keep them upright when possible.

Shipping & Rituals

Q: Where do you ship from?

A: Every order is bottled and sent from Western Australia.

Q: Do you ship overseas?

A: Not yet, for now, our magic stays within Australia. (International shipping is something we’re working on.)

Q: What about packaging?

A: Each perfume arrives in an amber glass bottle, protected from light, wrapped in eco-conscious packaging. Beauty, without excess.

Future Creations

Q: Will there be new scents?

A: Definitley! We’re constantly experimenting with blends, some become part of the collection, some stay hidden in the archives. Follow along to see which ones escape the shadows.

Q: Will you make candles?

A: The whispers say yes. For now, the House offers only perfume and body oils, but flame and smoke are in our future.
